Frequently Asked Questions
Is your fish sushi grade?
Yes! To be considered safe for raw consumption, or ‘sushi grade’, fish needs to be frozen at a certain temperate for a certain period of time. The general guideline is 0*F for 7 days. We flash freeze our fish to -30 degrees immediately after processing, and it remains in a stable frozen condition until it ships to your door.
Shipping Q&A
My package arrived slightly thawed, what do I do?
As long as any of the fish in the package has remained frozen, the remaining contents are still cold enough to be safe to refreeze and consume later. If the entire package is thawed, please contact shipping@yakobifisheries.
The tracking says my package is in TN but I live on the west coast, what gives?
Currently we use FedEx to ship from Juneau, Alaska. FedEx routes all packages through their main hub in Memphis, TN. From there it comes back west. Let us know if there is a significant delay or if your fish is no longer frozen upon arrival.
